Transport Canada carries this recall as 2014146, dated 22 April 2014. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 14V208, dated 18 April 2014. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, SC0379.

The two registers are 4 days apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 14V208, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

On certain vehicles, the directional/hazard signal flasher may fail. Actuation of the turn signal or hazard lights in this condition would cause them to remain illuminated and not flash as intended. As a result, drivers may not be able to clearly signal their intentions to turn, change lanes or warn others in an emergency situation. Correction: Dealers will replace the turn signal/hazard flasher module.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2014146.
