On certain vehicles, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) could unexpectedly activate while operating the vehicle. In rare cases, the system may interpret certain roadside objects, such as metal fences or metal guardrails, as obstacles and apply emergency braking through the CMBS. If the CMBS applies unexpected emergency braking force during normal operation, it could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the vehicle sofware for the system.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015201.
