Transport Canada carries this recall as 2015386, dated 28 August 2015. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 15V546, dated 31 August 2015. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, SR15009.

The two registers are 3 days apart: the Canadian entry is dated first, the American one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 15V546, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

On certain vehicles, the right parking brake cable may have been incorrectly installed resulting in insufficient clearance with the fuel tank, causing abrasive contact between the two components. This contact could result in the coating on the fuel tank deteriorating and allowing rust to form, which could result in fuel leakage. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the right parking brake cable and inspect the fuel tank. If the fuel tanku2019s exterior coating is damaged from contact with the parking brake cable, the fuel tank will also be replaced.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015386.
