Certain buses may have been manufactured with defective T-sliding windows that could allow water to accumulate in the central horizontal bar and not drain out properly. If this condition is present during a cold period, the accumulated water could freeze, expand and permanently deform the horizontal center bar, applying a stress on the glass to a point where it could potentially shatter, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Lippert Components Canada will provide instructions and some of the equipment necessary to the owners of the affected buses so that they can repair the faulty windows. The equipment that is not supplied is subject to a refund offer.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2016290.
