On certain vehicles, the headlamps could rotate during a crash, which could cause the wiring to the front impact sensor to detach prior to a signal being recorded by the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). This could result in non-deployment of airbags and pretensioners during a crash where deployment is warranted, which could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will modify the front impact sensor wiring harness and re-route and secure it.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2016498.
