Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) 201 - Occupant Protection. The latch securing the center console doors might not meet the requirements of the standard, specifically the longitudinal load tests. In the event of a crash, if longitudinal loads exceed those specified in the standard, items secured in the center console might exit the compartment, which may increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will remove the bumper stop for the center console armrest latch.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017061.
