On certain trailers, the reinforcement pivot plate in the gooseneck pivot area may be too short. As a result, over time the gooseneck pivot plate can fatigue and crack. This could lead to the gooseneck separating and causing the trailer deck to drop to the ground, which could result in loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and repair as necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017424.
