- Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
On certain vehicles equipped with air disc brakes, the brake caliper mounting bolts may be incorrectly torqued. This could result in the caliper bolts loosening, which could lead to the caliper detaching. Insufficiently torqued fasteners may not provide adequate clamping force between the brake caliper and brake anchor plate potentially resulting in reduced brake effectiveness, which would result in increased stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will inspect the bolts, and repair as necessary. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2017-580. Vehicles repaired as part of the previous recall will require re-inspection and repair.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018285.
