Canada — Transport Canada, Vehicle Recalls Database
Certain vehicles equipped with a bench style seat and manual, lap-only seat belts, do not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. The seat belts are not equipped with a retractor as required by the standard. As a consequence, the seat belt may not adjust to accommodate the varying size of occupants, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Correction: Spartan Motors Service Centers will replace the seat belts with new ones that have automatic locking retractors.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2018423.
