Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 210 u2013 Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages. The thickness of the passenger seat belt anchorage mounting bracket may not be adequate. As a result, the seat belt assembly could separate from the mounting bracket during a crash, which could increase the risk of injury and would fail to meet the anchorage strength requirements of the standard. Correction: Spartan Service Centers will install a reinforcement bracket to the passenger seat belt anchorage.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017542.
