Issue:
A problem with the engine-block heater cable or the terminals that connect the heater cable to the block heater could cause a short circuit.

A short circuit could cause damage to engine components and create the risk of a fire.Corrective Actions:
Stop use of your engine-block heater immediately. The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the block heater with a redesigned part. Do not use your engine-block heater until the repairs are performed.
