Issue: rnOn certain trucks, the hubs on the steer axle may not be filled with the proper amount of lubricant or may not contain any lubricant at all. This may result in wheel bearing damage, and in extreme cases, could cause a wheel to separate from the truck. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the lubricant level on the steer axle hubs. Any wheel end components and spindles that are found damaged will be replaced.
