Issue: rnCertain school buses do not meet the joint strength requirements of the Canadian regulations. In a crash, the ceiling joint could separate. rn rnSafety Risk: rnA ceiling joint that separates in a crash could create a risk of injury to bus passengers. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify all owners by mail and provide them with directions for how to have the roof inspected and repaired, as necessary. Part of the inspection will include counting the number of rivets used to mount the roof panels. Any 8 inch roof section that is found to have less than 6 rivets will require repair. Owners with further questions should contact their local dealer.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019495.
