Issue:
On certain tridem axle trailers, the parking brake may be slower to apply than what is allowed by Canadian regulations. Additionally, the service brakes on some trailers with a 72” axle spread may release more slowly than what is allowed by the regulations.Safety Risk:
Delayed parking brake application could result in unintended vehicle movement. Delayed release of the service brakes could affect brake performance and vehicle stability. Either could increase the risk of a crash.Corrective Actions:
Lode King will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their trailer to a dealer for an inspection of the air brake system. If the trailer is not fitted with a quick release valve for the parking brake, one will be added near the rear of the trailer. Additionally, trailers with a 72" axle spread will have a quick release gladhand valve added to the service brake line at the front of the trailer.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2019528.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Lode King: 22 in the register, and 594 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2019.
