Issue:
On certain vehicles equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the shifter cable may detach. This could cause the transmission not to shift gears when the shifter is moved. If a driver attempts to exit the car while it is not in the Park position, and the parking brake is not applied, the car could move suddenly.Safety Risk:
Sudden and unexpected movement of the car could increase the risk of a crash.Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to install a new transmission shift cable adjuster.
