Issue:
On certain vehicles, the rear crossmember may not have been properly welded. As a result, when the rear towing eye is used, the welds could break and the rear crossmember could detach from the vehicle.Safety Risk:

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear crossmember. Mercedes-Benz advises owners not to use the rear towing eye until the recall repairs are completed.
