Issue: rnOn certain trucks, the hubs on the steer axle may not contain any lubricant. This may result in wheel bearing damage, and in extreme cases, could cause a wheel to separate from the truck. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnThe company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facility to inspect and repair the steer axle hubs as required.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2020123.
