Issue:rnOn certain vehicles, the symbol on the rear door that indicates the child safety lock setting is incorrect. This could cause a person to set the child safety lock incorrectly. As a result, a child may be able to open a rear door from the inside of the vehicle. Alternatively, it may not be possible for a person to open the rear doors from the inside even if the doors are unlocked. rn rnSafety Risk: rnIf the child safety lock is not set correctly, a child may be able to open a rear door while with the vehicle is moving. Alternatively, the wrong setting could delay exiting the vehicle in an emergency. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnMercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to cover the incorrectly embossed lock symbol on the rear doors with the correct labeling.
