Issue: rnOn a small number of buses, a check valve within the air brake system may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, there could be an air pressure leak if there is a secondary brake circuit failure. This could cause the parking brakes to apply suddenly. rnNote: This recall only affects buses built with a Bendix air brake system. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnBlue Bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to inspect, and if necessary, replace the SC-3 check valve.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021243.
