Issue:
On certain vehicles, the air conditioning drain hose might be installed incorrectly. This could allow water to leak inside the vehicle. If this happens, electrical components could short circuit. This could affect different parts, such as the door locks and emergency call (eCall) system. It could also result in reduced engine power or cause the vehicle not to start.
Note: If this issue is present in your vehicle, you might notice wet carpets in the driver or passenger footwell and fogged windows.Safety Risk:
A loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. If the doors cannot be unlocked in an emergency situation, it may be difficult to exit the vehicle.Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect how the air conditioning hose is installed and correct it, if necessary. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should not use the air conditioning until the vehicle is inspected.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021247.

Reading this against the source
This page is what Transport Canada published in the Vehicle Recalls Database, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /canada, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.
What the words on this notice mean — the system it is filed under, and what the filing type says about who found the fault.
This register keeps an index of its own for every maker and every year it holds: Canadian recalls on a Mercedes-Benz: 477 in the register, and 658 Canadian vehicle recalls filed in 2021.
