Issue: rnOn certain trucks equipped with a fifth wheel trailer hitch, the left-hand mounting bracket for the hitch may be cracked. As a result, the fifth wheel assembly may become loose and could detach while towing a trailer. If this happens, the trailer could separate from the truck. rnNote: This recall only affects dual rear wheel trucks with a pickup box and a 6.7 L diesel engine. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA trailer that separates from the truck could create the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFord will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the left-hand mounting bracket for the fifth wheel trailer hitch. It will be replaced, if necessary.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021310.
