Issue: rnOn certain vans, the pivot points for the side mirrors could rust. If this happens, the mirrors could become loose or fall down. rnNote: This recall only affects vans equipped with short arm, manual fold, power-adjustable outside rearview mirrors. The recall applies to vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador). rnrnSafety Risk: rnA side mirror that loosens or separates could reduce rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnFord will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the side mirrors.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2021396.
