Issue: rnOn a small number of digger derricks, the gearbox assembly could be defective. As a result, the gearbox brake may not hold the boom in position. If this happens, the boom could rotate freely. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA boom that moves on its own could create a risk of injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnAltec Industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions to inspect and replace the gearbox assembly. If the gearbox assembly needs to be replaced, Altec will supply a replacement part or set up a service appointment with an Altec Service Center or Mobile Service Technician.
