Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, if the front bearing on the alternator fails, the alternator belts could continue to turn the alternator. This could cause the alternator bearing to overheat. rnrnSafety Risk: rnAn overheated alternator bearing could create the risk of a fire. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnPrevost will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to replace the alternator belts. To reduce the safety risk, Prevost recommends that you should inspect the front bearing on the alternator regularly, and not operate the engine with a defective alternator.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022191.
