Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, there may be a problem with the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners. As a result, the seat belt pretensioners could explode in a crash. If this happens, small pieces of metal could hit people in the vehicle. rnNote: This recall replaces recall R0200 (Transport Canada Recall No. 2021-627) for Venue models. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA seat belt pretensioner that explodes could create a risk of injury. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnHyundai will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to install protective caps over the driver and front passenger's seat belt pretensioners.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022342.
