Both registers carry the same date for this defect.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 22V546, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain trucks, the battery ground cables that connect to the vehicle frame could overheat. If this happens, the battery post could separate and cause a loss of electrical power. As a result, the engine could shut off suddenly. rnrnSafety Risk: rnOverheated battery ground cables could create a burn risk. A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnNavistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the alternator positive and ground cables. The dealer will also reroute the alternator ground connection from the frame rail to the starter.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2022407.
