Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, a trim panel could interfere with the seat belts for the second-row outboard seats. As a result, the second-row outboard seat belts may not work properly in a crash. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA seat belt that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnBMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the routing of the seat belts for the second-row outboard seats, and correct if necessary. To reduce the safety risk, BMW recommends not to transport any passengers in the second-row outboard seats until the recall inspection has been completed.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2023214.
