Transport Canada carries this recall as 2023305, dated 26 May 2023. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 23V375, dated 26 May 2023. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 5001644.

Both registers carry the same date for this defect.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 23V375, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain RV trailers, the furnace may have been installed incorrectly. As a result, the interior cooktop burner could be affected by the operation of the furnace. This may cause the burner flame to invert. It could also cause the burner flame to go out (extinguish), and create a propane leak inside the trailer. rn rnSafety Risk: rnAn inverted burner flame could create the risk of a burn injury or cause a fire. A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnForest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to reinstall the furnace correctly. To minimize the safety risk, Forest River recommends that the furnace and interior cooktop should not be used at the same time before the recall repairs have been completed.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2023305.
