Issue: rnOn certain trucks, water could leak into the exterior tailgate switch. As a result, the tailgate could unlatch and open unexpectedly while parked. If this happens, cargo that is not secured could fall out of the truck bed and onto the road when the vehicle is moving. rnNote: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a power-locking tailgate. rnrnSafety Risk: rnCargo that falls from the truck bed could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. rn rnCorrective Actions: rnGeneral Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the exterior tailgate switch. To reduce the safety risk, General Motors recommends that you should inspect the tailgate to ensure it's closed and latched before driving.
