Transport Canada carries this recall as 2024204, dated 29 March 2024. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 24V234, dated 27 March 2024. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 24452.

The two registers are 2 days apart: the American entry is dated first, the Canadian one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 24V234, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain RV trailers, the circuit board for the LED light rings on the cooktop knobs could fail. As a result, the wiring and/or LED lights could overheat and melt. rnNote: This recall only affects RV trailers equipped with certain Suburban cooktops. rnrnSafety Risk: rnWiring and/or lights that overheat and melt can create the risk of a fire. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnKeystone will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to disable or remove the LED light rings. To reduce the safety risk, Keystone recommends that you should disconnect the power for your trailer when it's not used and not to use the cooktop until the recall repairs are completed.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024204.
