Transport Canada carries this recall as 2024310, dated 31 May 2024. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 24V393, dated 3 June 2024. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, F1002.

The two registers are 3 days apart: the Canadian entry is dated first, the American one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 24V393, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Issue: rnOn certain vehicles, the snap rings for the wheel hub fasteners could be missing. As a result, the wheel hub fasteners could loosen and cause the wheel(s) to detach. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a wheel that separates could create a hazard for others. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnDaimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the hub nut retaining system and, if necessary, replace any damaged parts.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024310.
