Issue: rnThis recall is for winches installed on new side-by-side UTVs or sold as a dealer accessory. rnrnOn certain side-by-side UTVs, the ground connection for the winch may not have been tightened properly. As a result, when the winch is used, the ground connection could overheat and melt. rnNote: This recall affects winch kit nos. 2889275 and 2889276. rnrnSafety Risk: rnA ground connection that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. rnrnCorrective Actions: rnTo reduce the safety risk, Polaris advises that you should not use the winch until the recall repairs are completed. Polaris will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your side-by-side to a dealership to secure the ground connection.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2024457.
