Concern

Parking brake may self - release

Defect, as DVSA words it

The parking brake lever cable is too long which may cause the locking mechanism to extend beyond the last tooth of the sector when the park brake is engaged. This condition may cause the parking brake to self-release.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Recall affected vehicles and replace parking brake cable with shorter cable. Additionally as part of the above recall the repair contained in Daimler-Chrysler Technical Service Bulletin 05i-801-99 relating to parking brake imbalance will be carried out on affected vehicles.

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference, because DVSA lists none for this recall. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.
