Concern

Rear hub may detach

Defect, as DVSA words it

Current market observations have shown that the track usage of many vehicles in the 911 model line now comes close to that of pure GT3 racing vehicles. The component stresses associated with race track use and competitive driving are much higher than for a sporty driving style on public roads. The revision intervals for race track use must be observed particularly for highly stressed chassis components in the same way as is required for GT3 racing vehicles. If these revision intervals are not observed the failure of highly stressed components and breakage of hubs on the rear axle for example cannot be ruled out particularly in the case of components in advanced stages of wear.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

In order to standardise revision intervals the wheel hubs on the rear axle will be replaced by standard wheel hubs on the affected vehicles with central wheel lock

What changed since we first read it

Nothing yet. The wording has been the same on every read since 4 September 2026. The file is read again every day; if DVSA rewrites the defect, remedy or concern, the old and new text will appear here with both dates.

The same recall in other registers

No match found in the American, Canadian or European registers by manufacturer reference, because DVSA lists none for this recall. A recall can exist abroad under a different reference; this site only claims a match when the reference agrees.

Porsche 911 in the other registers

This site holds seven national and European registers. Porsche 911 is named on 26 American notices, 55 Canadian, 21 European and 27 Japanese. Those are separate campaigns, filed with separate authorities on their own schedules.

Nothing here says any of these is this notice in another country. A model recalled in one country is often recalled in another, in different words and at a different time, and the authorities do not cross-reference each other. Reading them together is the reason this site holds more than one register.

Porsche elsewhere in this register

Porsche is named on 122 notices in the copy of the DVSA’s register held here, of which these are the nearest to this one in time.

Reading this against the source

This page is what the DVSA published in its file of vehicle recalls, kept as it was read. The authority publishes only its current wording; if a notice is rewritten, the earlier version disappears there and is kept here. The whole register is at /uk-recalls, and how the reading is done is set out in the method.

This notice names one vehicle among several registers that have written about it. Every notice this site holds for the Porsche 911, in all seven, is kept on that vehicle's own page, with the newest in each.
