Due to water ingress the tailgate power module may develop a short circuit. This may cause the module to fail and in extreme cases

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Check affected vehicles for water ingress and modules for corrosion. Where necessary rectify water ingress replace power module and connectors and fit a power module water shield
