Concern

The PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater in some Sorento (XM) models can overheat due to potential damage of the connector terminal. This can lead to a malfunction of the PTC heater and a risk of fire.

The PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heater in some Sorento (XM) diesel models can overheat due to potential damage of the connector terminal. This can lead to a malfunction of the PTC heater and a risk of fire.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Replace the PTC relay and move the wiring fixing point. In cases of local thermal damage of PTC replace the PTC core and connector.
