Concern

Impairment of display messages in the instrument cluster (ICUC Gen6) on B2E vehicles

Defect, as DVSA words it

On vehicles equipped with the B2E electrical/electronic architecture and the ICUC Gen6 instrument cluster certain status and fault messages are not consistently displayed to the driver in the ICUC. The root cause is an error in the adaptation of the filter logic for messages originating from control units and the Vehicle Message Matrix (VMM) during the transition from ICUC Gen5 to ICUC Gen6. Among others fault messages from the ACM (Aftertreatment Control Module) and the VRDU3 (Video Radar Decision Unit) control units are affected. As a result it cannot be ruled out that individual warning messages required for the safe and proper operation of the vehicle and/or mandated by legislation may not be displayed reliably.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Remedy is to correct the failure through a software update

What changed since we first read it
