Concern

Bottom of the fuel tank may corrode and allow fuel to leak

Defect, as DVSA words it

The distance between the packing holder and the filler of the fuel tank cap is unsuitable. If the tank cap packing becomes swollen and climbs over the filler sealing failure occurs. When the fuel level is high in that condition if rapid acceleration and deceleration are repeated the fuel level will fluctuate making fuel leak from the gap between the filler mouth and the fuel tank cap packing. The leaked fuel will then be discharged onto the road surface via the drain tube. The fact that fuel leakage may occur under these conditions may constitute a violation of regulations. In addition to this if water from washing the unit enters inside the fuel tank from the sealing area the engine may malfunction. In the worst case the bottom of the fuel tank may corrode and if it is continued to be used in that state corrosion would progress and fuel may leak from the tank.

Remedy, as DVSA words it

Fuel tank caps for all the vehicles are to be replaced with modified parts. At the same time Honda will inspect how well the caps are sealed and if water is inside the tanks. If water is found in tanks Honda will replace fuel tanks fuel pumps and injectors for steel fuel tanks and fuel pumps and injectors for titanium fuel tanks. Titanium fuel tanks do not get rusty and do not have to be replaced.
