DEFECT: THE TWO BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE UPPER STEERING ARM TO THE VOLVO FRONT STEER AXLE WERE NOT TIGHTENED TO SPECIFICATIONS. THIS COULD LEAD TO LOOSENING OF THE BOLTS, WITH POTENTIAL FOR LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. CORRECTION: NEW BOLTS WILL BE INSTALLED AND THEY WILL BE TIGHTENED TO THE PROPER TORQUE SPECIFICATION.

Transport Canada recorded this notice in capitals, as its system did for many years. It is reproduced here exactly as published.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 1995137.
