On certain vehicles, the positive battery cable between the batteries and the starter may rub against an electrical ground cable between the starter and frame rail. This chafing may cause an electrical short and/or fire, which could result in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect to determine appropriate level of remedy required.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2005190.
