On certain trucks, the front spindle nut may have been over-tightened during vehicle assembly, causing preload on the front wheel bearings which may lead to premature bearing wear. If rapid bearing wear is allowed to progress, the front wheel assembly may separate from the vehicle and cause a crash. Correction: Dealers will verify bearing adjustment and, if found to be incorrect, will replace the bearings.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2007096.
