Certain infant seats may not lock properly in position when the seat is installed onto the removable base. The seat will latch into the base but it may not fully lock. In the event of a collision, should the seat not be fully locked into the base, the seat could separate from the base and result in personal injury or death. Correction: Dorel will notify its customers and provide a repair kit with a tool to be used to change the springs.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2010024.
