On certain vehicles equipped with electrically heated front seats, there is a possibility, under extreme cold conditions, for the seat heater control circuit to overheat and fail due to insufficient electrical grounding. Failure of the seat heater control circuit could result in burn damage of the seat cushion surface, or in the worst case, there is a risk of smoke, fire or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install an additional ground harness to the seat heater control system.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2010049.
