On certain truck-mounted telescopic articulating aerial devices, the glue bond joint in the insulating arm link may fail over time. The connection is secured by (8) bolts, but with the loss of the glue bond, the fasteners could fatigue over time and fail. Failure of the articulating arm fiberglass link can allow a user to fall from the platform, which could result in serious injury or death. Correction: Altec will provide instructions on how to inspect the fiberglass insulating link and fasteners. Installation of the through bolt or replacement of the articulating arm fiberglass link can be done by the customer or on request by an Altec service technician.
