On certain school buses, a joint in the ceiling sheet metal fails to conform to the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 221 - School Bus Body Joint Strength. The size of the hemming and the location of the glue have altered the joint strength of the panels. In the event of a crash, the ceiling panel may separate from the vehicle structure, which could increase the risk of personal injury to vehicle occupants. Correction: Dealers will install a junction plate over the ceiling panel joint.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2011438.
