On certain motorcycles, the motor rotor may contact the stator at sustained maximum motor RPM. Should this occur during motorcycle operation, rear wheel lockup could result, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will conduct a stationary screening test of affected motors and replace if necessary. In the interim, owners are advised to keep motor RPM below 5 000 RPM - This equates to 136 km/h for the SR model, and 127 km/h on the S model.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2014078.
