CARSMULTIVERSEWatch a recall

Transport Canada carries this recall as 2015095, dated 5 March 2015. The American register carries the same defect as campaign 15V132, dated 6 March 2015. They are the same defect because the manufacturer filed both under one internal campaign code, 215D.

The two registers are 1 day apart: the Canadian entry is dated first, the American one second.

These are the dates each register records against its own notice. They are separate administrative acts in two countries, recorded by two authorities under two sets of rules, and this page does not claim that one caused the other or that owners in either country were contacted on those days. What it shows is that the same manufacturer campaign reached the two registers on different dates.

Read the American notice 15V132, including every earlier version of its wording this site holds. The Canadian register explains why the manufacturer code is published there and what that makes possible. Canada and America sets every matched pair side by side.

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 120 - Tire Selection and Rims. The tire information label may indicate incorrect tire pressure, understated by 5 PSI, or a tire/rim/inflation pressure combination for which the maximum GAWR is slightly below the GAWR of the vehicle. Underinflated tires may not be capable of supporting the maximum load as reflected by the GAWR and GVWR specified on the certification label, which could cause tire failure resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Manufacturer will mail new tire and rims certification label.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2015095.
