On certain vehicles, the front axle sway bar link may come loose and detach from the frame rail. If the sway bar link were to detach, it could become lodged between the drag link and the front shock absorber, potentially binding the steering system, which could affect steering control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the upper sway bar link attachment for the presence of the hardened washer between the bushing and the nut and install the washer if not present.
The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017432.
