On certain ATV's, over time, exhaust temperatures and vibration can degrade the steel exhaust header pipe. This could result in a crack or hole to form in the pipe, which could allow for hot exhaust gases to escape and melt surrounding plastic components, which could increase the risk of injury and/or cause property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the existing low-carbon steel exhaust pipes with stainless steel pipes. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to stop riding their ATV until the defect has been repaired.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017499.
