Certain motorcycles equipped with halogen headlights may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CVMSS) 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The affected motorcycles may have inadvertently had E4 (European) halogen headlight assemblies installed, and as a result would not meet the photometric requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle conspicuity, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the headlight with a compliant one.

The wording above is the department's own, as it stood in the monthly file this site last read. Vehicle counts are the sum of the counts published for each make and model the recall covers. To act on a recall, use the official notice: Transport Canada recall 2017528.
